Anjani Briggs Voice Studio 2025 Policy & Contract

Studio Objectives

Goals are set on a student to student basis, but all lessons should be a time for vocal/musical exploration, safe expression, and open communication. This is your time and I am here to help you on your individual journey. At any time if you feel we are headed in a direction you don’t like or aren’t comfortable with, do not hesitate to let me know – I will do the same.

Required Materials

  • Pencil

  • Water

  • Comfortable clothing that is easy to breathe and move in

  • Music in a 3 ring binder

    • I will provide as much music as I am able, but students are required to source their own in instances I am not (either PDF copies or from books) once it is assigned/selected.

    • I must be provided with a copy of the music you are working on (check with me to see if I  already have one so unnecessary cost/use of resources can be avoided). This can either be a physical copy or an emailed PDF/picture.

    • If your choir director, musical director, etc. has a digital copy of the music you are hoping to work, please feel free to have them email it to: asbopera@gmail.com

    • If you are having trouble finding a certain piece, please reach out to me for help.

Lesson Etiquette

  • Please wait until your scheduled lesson time to knock on the door so as to respect the time of the student before you.

  • When leaving your lesson, if there is another student after you, please gather your things/put your shoes on as quietly as possible so the next student’s lesson is not impacted.

  • If you are comfortable, please let me know of anything that may impact your participation in that day’s lesson (physically, emotionally, logistically, etc.). I will do my best to accommodate and support you.

  • To keep the members of the studio as healthy as possible, if you are sick, DO NOT come to your lesson. Please notify me as early as possible and work with me to reschedule your lesson/adjust it to be virtual if you still feel well enough to sing.

  • Family members and friends are more than welcome to sit in on lessons if the primary student is ok with it. My only request is that if they are sick that they stay home or if they are recovering from illness that they mask when in the studio space.

Scheduling

The lesson calendar is released the third week of every month for the following month (i.e. lesson times for December are released the third week of November). Lessons are scheduled via the Calendly app that can be found at www.anjanibriggs.com on the Student Portal page.

Though scheduling all of your lessons for the month is not required, it is recommended to ensure your lesson times. Scheduling for the month does not prohibit you from adding, rescheduling, or cancelling lessons. Calendly blocks out any lesson times within 24 hours of when you check it – if you want to schedule a lesson for the following day, please reach out to me directly to check availability.

In-person lesson availability:

Sunday: noon-6pm

Monday-Thursday: 11am-7:30pm

Virtual lesson availability:

Monday-Thursday: 11am-9:30pm
